What we keep, and why

The Mixer: Connecting Senior Care Professionals is a free networking community run by its organizers, Miki Bellon and Dale Corpus. This page explains what this website collects and what happens to it. Last updated October 1, 2026.

The short version

Signing in

There are no passwords. You sign in with a link or code sent to your email, or with your Google account. With Google, we receive only your name, your email address, a link to your Google profile picture and confirmation that the address is yours. We use that email to match you to your listing and do not use the picture. We do not see your Google password, contacts, inbox or anything else in your Google account.

Your directory listing

When you join, you tell us your name, business, category, the areas you serve, a short bio, who you help, who you would like to meet, and optionally a photo, a logo and links to your website and social pages. That is what the directory shows. You choose whether your listing is visible to people who are not signed in. If you choose yes, search engines can find it too, and copies they keep may take a while to disappear after you change or remove it.

Organizers can see every listing in full, including the contact details, so they can run the community, and can download member and guest lists to their own computers for that purpose.

Your phone number and contact email are shown only to organizers and to paying Member Plus members. We also record how many times your profile is viewed and how many times people click your contact links, so you can see it on your account. We do not record who viewed it.

Events and RSVPs

Most RSVPs happen on Luma, which has its own privacy policy. When an event takes RSVPs on this site instead, we keep your name, email, business and anything else you enter, so the organizers know who is coming. You choose whether your name appears on the event's public guest list.

Messages and forms

The contact form is emailed to the organizers and is not stored on this site. Enquiries to host, sponsor or contribute, Member Plus requests, site help reports, ideas and event feedback are stored so the organizers can follow up. A screenshot sent with a site help report, and a logo or banner sent with an enquiry, are kept private where only the organizers can open them. A logo or banner goes on the site only if you become a sponsor. Posts and replies on the community board are seen by signed-in members.

Emails we send

We email you sign-in links, replies to your board posts and occasional posts from the organizers. You can turn off the last two on your account page. Event announcements and newsletters come from Luma, not from this site.

Photos

Photos and videos from Mixers are taken by the organizers and volunteers and shown in the gallery. Signed-in members can also send photos and short videos from the gallery page. What a member sends stays private until an organizer approves it, and it is shown with that member's name as the credit. If you are in one and would like it taken down, tell us and we will remove it.

Cookies

We use a few small cookies that the site needs to work: one keeps you signed in, one remembers that you passed the "not a robot" check for a week, and one lets you vote on ideas without signing in. None of them track you across other websites.

Who handles the data for us

These services may store and process information in the United States and other countries. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.

How long we keep it

We keep your listing and account while you are a member. Enquiries, RSVPs, help reports and feedback are kept while the organizers need them to follow up and run events. When you ask us to delete something, we delete it from the site; copies in the database's automatic backups are overwritten as those backups roll over.

Keeping it safe

Sign-ins use one-time codes or Google, contact details are locked so only the people allowed to see them can, and the site runs over an encrypted connection. No website is perfectly secure, though, so please do not put anything in a form that you would not want seen if it ever leaked, and never put a client's health information anywhere on this site. If we learn of a breach that affects your information, we will tell you as the law requires.

Children

This site is for working adults and is not meant for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you think a child has given us information, tell us and we will delete it.

Do Not Track

Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. We do not track you across other websites and do not let anyone else do so through this site, so the site works the same whether or not your browser sends it.

Changing or deleting your information

You can edit your listing yourself on your account page. To delete your listing, your account or anything else we hold about you, send a message through the contact form and the organizers will do it.

Questions

Write to the organizers through the contact form. If this page changes, the date at the top changes with it, and for a big change we will also say so on the site or by email. The rules for using the site are in the terms of use.
