About The Mixer

Where senior care connects.

The Mixer is an independent professional community for people who serve older adults and their families across the Peninsula and South Bay. Our community includes professionals in home care, senior living, memory care, healthcare, real estate, financial services, nonprofit organizations, AgeTech and related fields.

6 Mixers held so far, the next at Ivy Park San Tomas on Oct 7.

A full room of guests cheering at a Mixer

Our field runs on referrals, relationships and trust, yet the people who depend on one another most rarely have an opportunity to meet outside a crisis.

The Mixer changes that.

Each gathering is hosted by a different senior living or community organization. This allows guests to build meaningful professional relationships while experiencing firsthand the places and resources they may eventually recommend to older adults and their families.

How it feels

This is not a room filled with business cards and elevator pitches.

Every Mixer is designed with intention. We think carefully about how guests are welcomed at the door, how conversations begin and how quieter attendees find their way into the community as easily as natural connectors.

You will leave knowing names, faces and stories, not merely titles.

Who comes

The Mixer brings together care managers, placement specialists, executive directors, discharge planners, home care professionals, healthcare providers, real estate and financial professionals, advisors, founders, AgeTech innovators and community partners.

It is designed for anyone whose work meaningfully touches aging well.

Our hosts

We are grateful to the organizations and communities that have opened their doors to The Mixer, including Peninsula Volunteers, The Trousdale, Peninsula Reflections, Hearts and Minds Activity Center, BridgePoint at Los Altos and Silverado Belmont Hills.

Founded by Miki, built in partnership

The Mixer was founded by Miki Bellon on a simple belief: when the people serving older adults genuinely know and trust one another, older adults and their families receive better support.

Miki built The Mixer and its professional community from the ground up. She continues to lead its community, host partnerships and the trust-centered experience at the heart of every gathering.

As The Mixer grows, Miki partners with Dale Corpus, who contributes media, sponsorship development and technology. Together they bring relationship-centered community building and business development to the Bay Area’s senior care network.

Community contributors

The Mixer is strengthened by talented people who contribute their time, expertise and creativity to the community and the experience we are building.

We are grateful to Neill, Dan and the many hosts, volunteers and community members who help make every Mixer possible.

Our purpose

The Mixer exists to help the people shaping the future of aging build stronger relationships, discover trusted resources and create practical opportunities to collaborate.

Better professional relationships can ultimately lead to better outcomes for older adults and the families who depend on us.

How we treat each other

Community guidelines

  1. 1This board is for introductions and helping each other: what you are looking for, what you can help with, resources and wins.
  2. 2Be kind and professional. No negativity, insults, put-downs or pile-ons.
  3. 3No selling. Do not pitch your services or push people to buy.
  4. 4No constant self-promotion. Sharing what you do once is fine; posting it again and again is not.
  5. 5No spam, repeated posts or bulk links.
  6. 6Keep private things private. No client names, health details or anything a family told you in confidence.
  7. 7Ask before you share someone else's contact details.

Breaking these guidelines can get a post removed, and can lead to a suspension, removal from the community, or a permanent ban. The organizers decide.

Come to a Mixer, or join the community.
